Simetrica-Jacobs was commissioned by leading international property and infrastructure group Lendlease to develop a social value framework for use by the multinational company to consistently measure social value creation across construction projects globally.
Simetrica-Jacobs conducted workshops with a range of senior and middle-level stakeholders to understand what social value meant to Lendlease management and identify and inform the pathways through which the firm impacted society. The workshops examined the broader stakeholder landscape, the ethical constraints that the employees felt were critical and the company’s outputs, outcomes and impacts.
Following development of the framework, we recommended a set of indicators across three levels: project-specific metrics, contextual baseline metrics and business unit specific metrics. Simetrica-Jacobs has since built and interactive tool to allow Lendlease to monitor these metrics at project and firm-wide level and the social value being created.
